The
emphasis on Health, Safety and the Environment
(HSE) is reflected in the Al Nowais Group’s
HSE policy statement, which notes that:
"Al Nowais Group strongly believes
that all accidents, whether they lead to
injuries, ill health, damage to the environment
and property, fire or security breaches,
are preventable and can be controlled through
good management. The Company is committed
to the well being of its employees. To demonstrate
this commitment, the Al Nowais Group empowers
all employees “not to start work unless
they believe it is safe to do so; and to
stop work if they believe it has become
unsafe”.
The
Al Nowais Group will:

Ensure that all employees are aware of HSE
policy through a program of training
• Conduct
its activities in a manner which, so far
as is reasonably practicable, avoids disturbance
to the physical environment.
• Maintain
environmental standards that the will be,
at a minimum, those required by respective
national laws and regulations, but the group
will strive to adopt industry best practice
so far as is reasonably practicable.
• Strive
for continual improvement in our HSE performance.
• Routinely
carry out internal and external audits to
promote and maintain the group’s HSE
goals, objectives and targets.
• Communicate
internally and externally the Groups HSE
Performance and plans for improvement.
• Require
contractors to adopt the Group HSE policy
and standards as a minimum requirement.
This
policy must govern conduct within every
group unit, whatever the units business
or world location. The Al Nowais Group will
pursue the concepts of this HSE Policy through
its operational procedures, HSE Plans, visible
management and supervisory commitment and
shall periodically review them. We shall
continue to recognize those who contribute
to improve the Groups HSE performance.
